Minimus Vocal Ansamble

The vocal ensemble Minimus was established in November 2010. It is a group of eight experienced singers – who for many years now have been actively participating in the choral live of the city of Poznañ. They perfected their musical skills as members of many distinguished choirs: professor Stefan Stuligrosz’s “Poznañ Nightingales” Boys´and Men´s Choir, the Choir of the Ignacy Jan Paderewski University of Music in Poznañ, Poznañ University of Economics Chamber Choir “Musica Viva” or Poznañ Chamber Choir.

The ensemble’s repertoire concentrates on the vocal music of Renaissance and Baroque. Minimus also enjoys performing modern musical pieces which invoke the spirit of those periods. Therefore, it has performed world premieres of numerous a cappella works of this kind.

The ensemble’s artistic director is Slawomira Raczynska, who in 2009 graduated with awards from Ignacy Jan Paderewski University of Music in Poznañ, Poland. Her major was conducting, which she was taught by professor Marek Gandecki. In 2008, she received the second award in the 12th National Student Conducting Competition.

Minimus has taken part in a number of festivals and it has performed all over Poland. Everywhere they go, the ensemble receives a very warm welcome. The singers not only pay special attention to the artistic side of their performances, but they also remember to create a refined and well-thought-out dramatic atmosphere during their concerts. This unquestionably distinguishes Minimus among other vocal ensembles.
